Mitzi is sole proprietor of Legal Nurse Services. She is a mentor in the field of case management, a teacher of Elder Law for paralegals, a course instructor for legal nurse consulting and practical implementation. She is known for her unique passion and ability to train nurses, medical social workers, healthcare workers, and providers to transition into the case management experience with a focus on organizational goals and the patients’ well being.
Mitzi is a registered nurse who holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Portland Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She received her Legal Nurse Certification from San Francisco State University. She served two terms as president of Bay Area Chapter Northern California [AALNC].
Mitzi is a Legal Nurse and Nurse Case Manager speaker, trainer, and mentor. She has over 30 years’ experience in Nursing Practice which includes medical/surgical, cardiac care, stroke rehabilitation, acute and ER psychiatric areas. She has over 20 years of nurse case management in workers compensation, elder care, acute medical, utilization, and discharge planning.
She is a certified case manager (CCM) with the Case Management Society of America (CMSA). She is American Nursing Association (ANA) board certified [BC] as both a nurse case manager and psychiatric nurse specialist. Mitzi also has a certification in Legal Nurse Consulting (LNCC) from the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC).
She is a member of various associations which include the Bay Area Chapter of Northern California (BACNC) for the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNCJ) and the Case Management Society of America (CMSA).
